Candidate: Darren Stutts

I am Darren Stutts and I am running for Seat 5 on the City Council of Green Cove Springs.  I moved to Green Cove at age 18, in 1985 to work for Roberts Chevrolet.  In 1988, I opened my own paint and body shop where I repair wrecked cars.  My passion has always been to restore the classic cars and do custom paint and body work.  I also enjoy drag racing and participating in car shows.

I have been married for 31 years to my wife, Larianne, and we have 4 children and 4 grandchildren.  Larianne was a teacher at Green Cove Springs Junior High and all but one of our children still live in the Green Cove community,  Our son, Jason works at the body shop for me, and our son, Charlie, works at a body shop in Tallahassee.  Our older daughter, Jami is a school teacher at Green Cove Junior High, and our younger daughter, Darianne is an ER nurse.

We attend Lakeside Church of Christ and believe that Christian values are the core values of how we live our lives, and how I want to treat others in my business and my daily life.

I am very grateful for this community and I have been blessed to raise my family in this small town atmosphere.  We love living here and enjoy how my former customers and wife's former students as well as their families have all become our friends.  I think the best people live right here in Green Cove Springs.

I am not a politician; I am a business man and a family man.  I think Green Cove Springs is the best little town in Florida, and I want to do my part to see that way of life continue.  I want to help preserve its history, while also helping it grow.  The citizens here have been good to me and supported my business well.  I want to do my part to give back and see us continue to grow and thrive.
