Candidate: Brian T. Heady

Dear Indian County Resident; Everyone in the county is entitled to vote for their choice of who they want to represent them as a County Commissioner. The incumbent in the County Commission District 5 race has decided to run his campaign on a platform of liberty. No one is against liberty. But after 4 years in office I think it is fair to examine his record of public service. I opposed his support of the expenditure of $9.9 million to buy the golf course located at Dodgertown. The property has been vacant and unused since taxpayers money was used to purchase it. I opposed his support of $11.2 in county taxes paid to purchase the development rights of a ranch west of Interstate 95. I opposed his support of $12.2 million to purchase development rights of agricultural land which if developed could have only been divided into a few large ranches. I opposed his support of the continuation of the multi-million dollar expenditures in sand nourishment each year only to see the sand disappear in the next storm. I opposed his efforts at a county hostile takeover of city water and sewer departments. I oppose his continuation of bigger government controlling more and more land, controlling more and more utilities, controlling more and more of your $$$ and more and more of your rights. I am tired of the endless political bull and I support: 1. Telling the public the truth; 2. Cutting wasteful government spending; 3. Reducing the escalation of $100,000+ salaries; 4. Ending the practice of dumping sand on the beaches; 5. Ending the extensive use of consultants; 6. Allowing county residents to choose from where they receive their utility service; 7. Enforcing and holding in place the urban service line; 8. Putting lifeguards on our beaches; 9. Making government regulations easy to understand; 10. Being responsive to you, my citizen employers once elected. 11. Careful, limited use of your tax dollars. Most people in the county who have followed my public role know I say what I believe. I have in the past delivered as promised. Please help me reign in the endless wasteful spending of our hard earned tax dollars. Tell everyone you know to cast their vote for Brian Heady.
