My experience serving as Deputy with the Manatee County Sheriff\'s Office gives me a unique insight on how tax dollars regarding public safety budgets are approved wisely to protect all Manatee County residents. As your next County Commissioner, I intend to incorporate my background in public safety to provide for safer,strong neighborhoods. In addition to providing neighborhood safety, my longtime public service has provided the opportunities for youth leadership and I will continue to fight for the future of Manatee County. I will focus my efforts on keeping property taxes low, curbing frivolous government spending, and creating incentives for businesses to relocate to Manatee County. With Manatee County unemployment rate over 7.5%, nearly .2% above the national average, our County has felt the impact of the economic downturn. I will work to bring jobs back to Manatee County. \"My platform is based on three pillars: Public Safety and Strong Neighborhoods, the Economy, and our Environment. Together, we can make our county ideal for expansion of sustainable jobs, which will stabilize our economy, revitalize our downtown areas and neighborhoods.
