Candidate: John A. Dittmore

 I am a US Navy Veteran, retired Police Officer, and a small business owner here in Brevard County. After retiring with 20 years as a police officer, I accepted a position as a Police Advisor and was embedded with a US Army Police Mentoring Team in Kandahar Province, Afghanistan. After that deployment I accepted a similar position in Port-au-Prince Haiti to conduct training for the Haitian National Police (PNH).  After my deployments I returned to civilian life and got involved with my community as a board member on the Hammock Lakes Homeowners Association.  In 2017 I was approached and asked to lead an effort in the West Melbourne Community to respond to an unfavorable redistricting of our school children. This effort was successful which had residents in the community encouraging me to run for West Melbourne City Council. I was then elected in 2018 and later was selected by the council to serve as Deputy Mayor for two consecutive terms. In 2022 I was elected again by the residents of West Melbourne to serve a 2nd term on the Council.  I have over 30 years of public service and wish to continue to represent the residents of Brevard County.
