Candidate's Statement

Brevard County Florida, January 17, 2023 – Robert L. Jordan, Jr. has announced his candidacy for Brevard County Commissioner, District 1, representing Northern Brevard County, specifically, and a portion of Cocoa, North to the Volusia County Line.  A graduate of Savannah State University and Embry Riddle University, Jordan has a long history of advocacy for the citizens, especially in the areas of Education, Economic Development and Health Care.  Jordan’s dedication to professional excellence, servant-centered service, and creative problem-solving has led to pragmatic and effectual results for Brevard Citizens.  From his headquarters in Titusville Florida, Jordan, who is President & CEO of Genesis VII, Inc., a third-party logistics and services company, serves the entertainment attraction businesses in Florida and California, along with government vendors at Kennedy Space Center. Prior to his acquisition of Genesis VII, Inc., in 2011, he held the position of Engineering Process Manager for the prime contractor on the United States Space Shuttle Program, at Kennedy Space Center. Other positions held throughout his 32-year career were: TPS Engineer, Cargo Mechanical Engineer, Project Engineer and Manager, Proposal Manager, Facilities Manager and Program Manager.

Jordan enjoys tinkering in his workshop, playing in charity golf tournaments, remodeling or just “sprucing up” his home, and RV’ing with his wife. They enjoy visiting local parks throughout Florida, like Manatee, in Titusville, parks in Georgia., and various locations in North Carolina. It is Jordan’s connection with the environment that makes preservation and responsible growth a priority for him.  Jordan also spends much of his free time giving back to the community.  He is a major sponsor of the Children’s Advocacy Council of Brevard, United Way, Boys Scouts, Boys and Girls Club, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation, Viera Charter School, Women’s Center, and the SPCA. Quality, not just quantity of life, is a mantra Jordan lives by.

As a 1979 graduate of Savannah State University, Robert obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, in Civil Engineering Technology with a minor in computers.  In 1992, he received his Master of Aeronautical Science degree, with a Specialization in Management, from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University.  Jordan is also a Certified Professional Manager and Certified Facilitator.

Civic positions held by Jordan, are vast:  Vice Mayor, City of Titusville, Fl. , Chairman and President, Viera Charter School; Chairman, Parrish Medical Center Board of Directors; Chairman, Titusville Chamber of Commerce; Secretary/Treasurer, North Brevard Economic Development Zone; Board of Directors Member, United Way of Brevard; Chairman, Brevard Career Source, Jess Parrish Medical Foundation Board Member; Board of Directors Member, Economic Development Council; Board of Directors Member, Circles of Care; Vice Chairman.  Planning and Zoning (City of Titusville, FL); Chairman, North Brevard Medical Support Board of Directors; Vice Chairman, Titusville YMCA Board of Directors; Chairman, Public Access Committee, Space Coast Commerce Park Authority Board of Directors; Brevard Cultural Alliance Board of Directors Member; and Selective Service Board.  

Jordan has been a recipient of numerous awards: Top Ambassador Bond for the Children’s Advocacy Center of Brevard 2021; Business Laureate, Junior Achievement 2021;  Educational and Athletic Facility named in his honor (with a bronze likeness of  himself permanently affixed on the educational building),2020; NASA Public Service Medal; NASA Team Award, Engineer of the Year, Distinguished Engineer, Outstanding Young Engineers of America, and Engineer of the Year; recipient of the Kellogg Management Program Scholarship; named one of the Space Coast’s Most Admired Business Leaders and Business Leader of the Year by, Space Coast Business News; Community Builder Award; Bishops Award for Business and service to the community; Leadership Star Award, Brevard Walk of Fame; and Sustained Superior Performance Award.

The pride of Jordan’s life, and greatest supporters of his community services, are his lovely wife of 42 years, Karen, and their, two wonderful children, Robert III, Manager of Operations, at Genesis VII, Inc., and Kristina, a System’s Engineer for one of the large aerospace companies, based in Florida.
