Candidate: Charles Overturf

Hello, I am Charles Overturf For the past 53 years, Putnam County has been my home. I have done my very best to serve and to give back to my community. I have served as a coach in baseball and soccer for 15 years, as the co-founder and director of the Terrific Kids program in the Elementary Schools for Putnam County for the past 18 years, in which we have honored over 10,000 students; a member of Azalea City & Palatka Kiwanis Clubs for 27 years, member and treasurer for the College Road Church of Christ and for 35 years have been here to try and help the residents of Putnam County when they have had to go through the emotional trauma of a loved one dying. It would be an honor to serve Putnam County as your Supervisor of Elections. QUALIFICATIONS -- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Flagler College -- AA Degree from St. Johns River Junior College -- AA Degree from John A. Gupton College of Mortuary Science -- 27 years as co-owner of 3 successful businesses, Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka and Interlachen and Putnam Crematory in Interlachen. I believe I have the leadership and qualifications to lead the county in the voting process. I am committed to ensuring that every election is conducted professionally and with integrity, and that all the voters are treated with dignity and respect. Every rule, regulation, and law will be carried out equally and fairly to all voters. Every vote will be counted in an accurate and professional manor. Decisions that are made must always be done in the most economical and efficient way possible. Every Tax Payer in Putnam County deserves the Elections Office to be the very best it can be. Finally, I will make it a priority to go into all the schools, to teach, to educate, to motivate and to encourage all of our young people to get involved in the elections process. Many gave their lives to allow all of us this privilege and we need to make sure our young people truly realize the sacrifice and never forget.
