Candidate: Joseph 'Mike ' Petrucci

Elections are the most important part of a democracy and how those elections are conducted defines us as a people. Every election must be fair and accurate both in fact and perception. I have been a resident of Putnam County since 1996 and have been involved with elections and politics in Putnam County from day one in some capacity, making me very familiar with the laws that govern elections. I am a Democrat and have a passion for elective politics. My experience has helped me understand what candidates and political committees need from the office. As Supervisor of Elections, I will respect the office and work towards that goal for all candidates regardless of party. I have supervisory experience, knowledge of data management, and a desire to build on the efforts of Susan McCool and take it to the next level. I want to expand outreach to our future voters in our high schools, encourage young people to see the relevance of voting on their lives and to work to reduce apathy among our general population. This is an ongoing effort, but I think that my enthusiasm for the election process makes me well suited for this effort. This is the position that I was born to hold.
