Candidate: STEPHANIE FINNELL

My name is Stephanie Finnell and I\'m proud to be running for Columbia County School Board District 5. My husband, Jimmy and I have been married for 15 years and have one son, Garrett. I\'m the daughter of Sherrill Sistrunk and Lula Mae Peeler Sistrunk I\'m originally from Hamilton County and graduated from Hamilton County High School in 1990. I relocated to Columbia County in 1997. I recieved my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1996 at Valdosta State University. After which I completed my Masters Degree in Nursing in 2001 and then went on to complete my Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner Degree in 2002 at the University of Florida. While working on my master\'s degree I was also an instructor in the Registered Nursing Program at Lake City Community College (now Florida Gateway College), where I also was an Advisor for the Student Nursing Association . During this time I also assisted in preparing the program for accreditation. I currently practice as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner at a local internal medicine facility. Among seeing my many patients and filling my daily obligations I also mentor several students who are aspiring to become Nurse Practitioners themselves.
