Candidate: Ashlynn Casey Marquez

Dear Washington County Residents,
 
I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Washington County Commissioner District 1. It is with great enthusiasm and dedication to our community that I am stepping forward to serve in this important role.
 
As County Commissioner, I am committed to:
- fostering transparency and accountability.
- maintaining effective lines of communication.
- applying common sense solutions to county related problems. 
- ensuring the safety and security of our county by working hand in hand with emergency services to address the needs of our growing community.
- promoting economic growth so our children can find local careers.
- promoting and supporting the Florida Panhandle Technical College in its efforts to better prepare our citizens for prosperous and local careers.
 
Above all, I am committed to listening to each of you, and representing your voices effectively in county government.
 
I am a 5th generation Washington County resident who is deeply rooted in the values and traditions held dear to the citizens of Washington County.
 
I am a business owner in our community, and as a hairstylist the nature of my business is service. For 23 years it’s been my job to listen to people, hear their concerns and address them. Accurate communication is my job and a skill I feel will benefit Washington County.
 
I am a wife of a police officer who previously served his country in the US Army. I am a mother to three children ages 20,17 and 16. I am the owner of Styling Station Salon and Spa, together with my mother Sonya Davis we provide an establishment for 14 independent contractors to operate out of in Historic Downtown Chipley.
 
I would be truly honored to have the opportunity to serve as your County Commissioner and look forward to earning your trust and vote.
