Candidate: Tim Yandell

My name is Tim Yandell. On August 26th I am asking for your vote for School Board, District 1. Whether you have children in the school system or not this will be a very important election. I feel that our children are our most precious resource and educating them is a responsibility that we as adults should take very seriously. This position should not be viewed as a part time job or as a way to supplement a persons income. I would like to make the promise to you that I will devote all of my resources to the advancement of our children’s educational potential. I promise you that no other candidate will work harder OR invest more time to this position than I will. I’ll walk the halls of EVERY school and I will personally meet with principals, teachers, bus drivers and everyone else that’ll talk to me to ensure a thorough understanding of what is needed to have a more successful school system. I will list some of my qualifications besides my willingness and devotion to this cause. Bachelor of Science in Business management Masters of Business Administration Dixie League baseball and youth football volunteer coach. Several years management experience in restaurant and condominium management. In addition to the above my wife teaches second grade and my daughter(age 7) and son(age 12) attend Walton County schools. Having a second grader and a middle school student as well as a teacher in my family I get feedback from elementary students, middle/ high school students as well as an active teacher. This allows me to not only have experience in managing the assets to ensure resources to our children but to also have a very broad spectrum of experiences to draw from. Just being a former teacher or having a business background by themselves would not lead to a very positive outcome. Finally our taxes were recently motioned and approved to be raised by the current school board. If I were on the Board I can assure you that there is absolutely no reason for that to be the case. Going into a very depressed economic cycle we need someone that can read financial statements and understands the budgeting process or it could have unintentional disastrous affects on both the welfare of our children as well as the entire school system.
