WHAT I BELIEVE IN I believe Walton County needs a representative like me who knows that there are some tough roads ahead if we don’t change course. I\'ve made Walton County my home since 1995 and both of my children have been born and raised here on the Emerald Coast. I have spoken out about issues important to our future. I’ve spent my own time and resources researching and educating myself on county issues. 4 things that have to happen for Walton County Government to succeed: 1. COMMON SENSE- Quite often at county meetings things don’t look, smell, or sound right. I ask the hard questions so tax payers don’t foot the bill. 2. ACCOUNTABILITY- Government has to ask itself, “Would I do this if it were my business or my money?” 3. RESPONSIBILITY- \"Are the actions I am about to take in the best interest of Walton County and its citizens?\" 4. ENFORCEMENT- Walton County already has a lot of rules, but some are not enforced. I will hold individuals and businesses accountable for their actions that bring harm and cost to the taxpayer and praise those who bring about positive economic growth and quality of life. Many people keep talking about “needing more economic growth” as Walton County’s problem. I think rapid unmanaged growth has created many issues. We need consistent \"A+\" schools, parks and ball fields for our children and grandchildren. When we restore faith in government and attract responsible people who want to raise their families here, the business will come. Families must believe their home will be a safe investment for a long term and that taxes and insurance can remain affordable for a sustainable period of time. That’s not happening now. There are way too many neighborhoods going under and taking families’ life savings with them due to irresponsible, underfunded development and lack of county enforcement! I am a parent who has been heavily involved in youth sports, the Gulf of Mexico Reef issues, Artificial Reef building as well as serving on a 170 lot Homeowners Association Board to an elected position. I have also served in tough positions such as a Casualty Notification Officer. I will be tough and fair, and will listen to citizens and make myself easily accessible. I am available for questions and welcome the chance to meet with any group of people to hear their concerns anytime between now and the August 26th Primary by calling (850)685-4607 or email alan@osborneforcommissioner.com. Any remaining funds at the end of my campaign will be donated to the Special Operations Warrior Foundation to help educate the children of fallen Heroes who gave the ultimate sacrifice. I promise to give the same level of commitment to Walton County that I have given to the American people for the last 22 years. Thank you for your vote and your consideration, I know the best for Walton County is yet to come.
