Candidate: Trisha Porter Hutchison

Trisha Porter Hutchison has lived in Walton County Most of her life. Currently she resides in Mossy Head, a small town on I-10 and US Highway 90 on the western border of Walton County. Trish is a graduate of Walton High School, Okaloosa-Walton College, and the University of West Florida. After graduating from high school she began college seeking a degree in Business Administration and acquired a real estate license. Later, she realized that her heart was in teaching. Changing the degree she was seeking, Trish worked her way through a degree at OWC and UWF in Elementary Education. She has been a teacher for about 9 years, presently at Maude Saunders Elementary in DeFuniak Springs. At Maude Saunders, Trish is also the Professional Development Chairperson and School Improvement Co-Chair. In addition, Trish works for the University of West Florida as a lead teacher in their SES tutoring program. Trish has a vision of a school district working together as a team. She would like to ensure an open door policy to all citizens of Walton County no matter what their social or political status may be. Trish has been raised to be fiscally responsible and believes extravagance is not an option with taxpayer’s money.
