Candidate: Richard Benson

Mr. Richard "Reb" Benson is an action-oriented individual with the experience and collaborative skills necessary to best represent the residents on Community Development District (CDD)-2, Seat 5.

Mr. Benson has over 34 years of Government Service (Air Force Officer and Air Force Government Civilian) where he worked ballistic missile and space operations, managed multimillion-dollar programs and negotiated several international arms control agreements.  He was a Program Manager at SAIC for 7 years where he lead a 15-person contractual effort with an Air Force office responsible for strategic policy.  Related directly to being a CDD Supervisor, he was the Park Ridge Homeowners Association President and Vice-President for 15 years where he managed budgets and community infrastructure for 1,800 homes in Stafford, VA and worked with the Association's developer and county/state-elected supervisors.  In addition, he was the Stafford Area Soccer Association President for 6 years where he managed a county-wide 3,000 child soccer program and a 12-person Board of Directors and worked with various county departments and county supervisors.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering Technology from Kent State University, OH and a Masters in Business Administration from Webster University, IL.

Mr. Benson currently represents the residents of CDD-2 on the Amenity Authority Committee, making him a good fit to also represent the residents of District 2 as a Supervisor.

Mr. Benson's goals are: (1) Ensure residents have a voice in the community and address their concerns; (2) Maintain fiscal conservation; (3)  Work with other CDD's on areas of mutual interest (Multimodal Paths, etc.); and, (4) Develop innovative ways to maintain and improve the community.
