Candidate's Statement

My name is Tammy Moore, and I am running for District 4 School Board Member. I have been married to Michael “Derek” Moore for 34 years, and we have 3 daughters and a granddaughter. I graduated from Bell High School in 1986. I have lived in Gilchrist County for most of my life. I have been the Human Resource Director for the Gilchrist County Board of County Commissioners for 12 years and worked for the Board for 22 years.

Our oldest daughters, Holli and Reilee, graduated from Bell High School. Our youngest daughter, Willow, is in Pre-K at Bell Elementary along with my granddaughter, Tymber, who is in 2nd grade. I have always been very involved in my children’s school activities. I understand there have been many changes over the years, but the students should always remain the priority.

I believe that parental involvement in education is key in our children’s success. I think that parental involvement can be balanced while maintaining student safety. I feel that as an active parent of an elementary student, I would be able to see how things affect our students and teachers firsthand. I am the person who will make a stand to keep our children safe and maintain our community’s traditional values.

I would love to serve on our School Board to represent the parents in our county to advocate for our children. Please feel free to reach out to talk to me and share your concerns, or just to tell me what you love about our wonderful schools.

I would love to hear from you.
