Candidate's Statement
Milissa Holland has been a resident of Palm Coast since 1987 when her father, Jim Holland, an original Palm Coast Councilman, moved his family to Palm Coast from Poughkeepsie, New York. She graduated from Flagler/Palm Coast High School and attended Daytona State College.
Milissa was elected to the Flagler County Board of County Commissioners in November, 2006 making history as the Board\'s first female Commissioner; and in November, 2008 she was elected the first female Commission Chair. In November, 2010 she was unopposed in her reelection to a second four-year Commission term.

In 2013 Milissa became a partner in Southern Strategy Group, one of the largest and most powerful lobbying firms in Florida. This lobbying firm works with clients in the areas of economic development, environmental matters, health care, education, local government, energy, growth management, and transportation. Milissa was an accomplished consensus builder working with regulatory agencies in Florida and local elected officials across the state to have her clients\' legislative goals heard and considered in the State legislature. She testified before the Governor and Cabinet with unanimous votes on the positions presented with a perfect success rate. She also was appointed by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to the Governor\'s Central Florida Water Supply Plan Committee as the environmental representative.
