Candidate's Statement

“Advocating and Promoting a Quality Education for ALL CHILDREN” Currently serving as Board Chair, I was first elected to the Escambia County School Board as the District 3 Representative in August 2008 and was re-elected in August 2010. A product of the Escambia County School District, I attended public school in District 3. I am the seventh child from a family of eleven children. Having a passion for education, I was the first in my family to graduate high school and college. I believe that every child is entitled to the opportunity for a quality education. I graduated from W.J. Woodham High School and later went on to earn an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management from Pensacola Junior College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Troy State University. My work experience in various community service positions for Escambia County over the past 38 years brings a diverse wealth of knowledge to the School Board. I am currently employed with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office. I mentor two youths in District 3 as part of the Youth Mentoring Program. In addition to serving on the School Board, I was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Florida High School Athletic Association, I am Chair of the Community Action Agency Program of Pensacola, Vice Chair of Florida School Boards Association Board Development Committee, and am a member of the ECARE Board (Every Child\'s a Reader in Escambia). I have also served as a member of the Early Learning Coalition of Escambia County and the Florida School Boards Association Diversity Committee. I am a member of the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, The Institute for Social Justice, Northwest Florida Prevention Coalition, Bellview Youth Association and many other community organizations. I have been married to Anthony Paul Moultrie for 38 years and we have two sons, Anthony (Keysha), Cedric (Andrea) and a daughter, Alicia Randolph. I am also the proud grandmother of eight grandsons who all attend various Escambia County Public Schools.
