Candidate: Faye Leddon

Faye Leddon is a candidate for re-election to the Walton County School Board, District 2. In her first term, Leddon has proved herself trustworthy and available to the people of her district. Mrs. Leddon and her family have lived in Walton County for 41 years. Professionally, she worked in finance with local banking institutions and spent some time as a local business owner. She understands budgeting and fiance. Her two sons and their families live and work in Walton County and her grandchildren attend Walton County Schools. She and her husband, Jim, were great supporters of the local schools over the years. Faye continues that commitment on her own since Jim\'s passing in 2008. As a school board member, Mrs. Leddon considers being able to attend so many school activities and functions as a real plus. She enjoys hand-on experiences with the children at every level of education. Presently Mrs. Leddon serves on the Walton County Education Foundation Board and she was recently appointed to the Walton Career Development Center Advisory Board. She has been able to observe the tremendous growth and expansion within Walton County and has witnessed firsthand the impact of that growth on the school district. She understands and fully supports the educational needs of all current an future students as well as the balance needed to support those needs while still maintaining fiscal integrity. Mrs. also understand that not all students will seek higher education upon graduation. She strongly supports the opportunities provided through the Career Development Center and is excited to be a part of their advisory board. Helping prepare students for success in the workforce is one of her many goals as she seeks a second term. Leddon looks forward to serving the residents of Walton County over the next four years. She comes to the Board table prepared to deal with the issues brought before her. While she doesn\'t always agree or vote with her co-board members, she always thinks through her position and states why she voted in a certain way. Faye Leddon has represented Walton County with integrity and common sense and she covets the opportunity to continue to represent the residents of Walton County and their children during the next four years.
